How to get ISO certified?

ISO certification is given by an accredited certification body which will conduct an audit of the company’s processes, documentation and controls before issuing the certificate.
However, companies that do not yet have an ISO management system in place cannot directly request a certification body to audit them. They must first establish the management system and ensure that it is properly implemented by all the stakeholders.
IsoSec’s helps companies throughout the ISO implementation process to ensure that they are fully prepared for the certification audit.

How to prepare for ISO certification?

The preparation for the ISO certification entails several steps depending on which ISO standard is required (ISO 9001, ISO 45001…). The common approach is the following:
Conducting a gap analysis to evaluate the company’s processes and to identify any missing policies, documentation or controls.
Building the ISO management system by developing and documenting the procedures that meet ISO requirements (risk assessments, quality manual, SOPs…).
Communicating and training staff on the new system and integrating the new procedures into daily operations.
Conducting an internal audit to verify compliance and to remedy the non-conformities before undergoing the external certification audit.

How Long Does ISO Certification Take?

The ISO certification process typically spans between 3 to 6 months depending on the scope, the organisation size, complexity of its operations etc. Some ISO implementation process may even take longer depending on the organisation’s resources and the level of cooperation of their employees.
